Bringing Together An Ecosystem
Premier AI Talent Pool
The University of Washington supplies top-tier technical talent to FAAMG AI Hubs in the Pacific Northwest. However, when compared to the Bay Area, Seattle’s talent pool pursues entrepreneurship less frequently.
Cross-Program Networks
Husky Hackathon builds cross functional teams that combine technical and go-to-market expertise - from the Foster School of Business to the Allen School of Computer Science.
Lighting A Spark
Husky Hackathon 2020 is a week-long collaboration sprint that aims to address the most pressing issues facing society today, and how AI can help close critical technology gaps.
Vision & Inspiration
The UW Foster School of Business’ Tech Club aims to be the center of business & technology in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the Foster Tech Business Review and the Foster Biz Dev Community, the Husky Hackathon brings together stakeholders across the Seattle ecosystem to promote innovation and thought leadership.
The Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club (EVCC) is dedicated to inform, inspire, and empower entrepreneurship and venture capital-minded Foster students and connect them to resources in the Seattle start-up and VC communities — and beyond. The EVCC is the gateway between the Foster MBA program, the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Seattle start-up and VC community. We also aim to increase awareness of Foster within the hiring community, ensuring that companies know to look for the best and brightest at UW.
The Husky Hackathon brings together professionals at the forefront of Seattle’s tech and startup ecosystem including entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, designers, and academics. The 2022 hackathon includes judges, mentors, and speakers from leading companies and organizations including Amazon, Microsoft, Madrona Venture Group, The Allen Institute for AI (AI2), and many more.
Foster’s Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship aims to ingratiate the spirit of entrepreneurship into the University of Washington community. The Buerk Center provides critical resources to UW’s aspiring founders - ranging from entrepreneurship degree programs to job fairs and opportunities for funding.
